The International Association of Professional Brochure Distributors (IAPBD) in collaboration with Massachusetts Bentley University and the Center for Marketing Technology, created a survey to understand the effectiveness of tourism brochures.
During June and July 2014. 22 locations were selected in the USA, Canada, and Western Europe and 2,751 tourists responded to the survey, an increase of 1,114 interviews, leading to even more reliable results in 2014. Professional marketers interviewed participants in situ and their survey answers were collated and sent to the CMT for data entry and analysis.
The survey aims to highlight the demands of the modern traveler regarding the information material supplied within hotels or other accomodation properties (such as Airbnb).
Opportunity for efficiency improvement
By analyzing its findings, critical data for companies operating in this field shall emerge, providing them with an opportunity to improve the efficiency of tourist brochures and publications preparation and distribution.
Data collection is undertaken by professional brochures distributors, members of Union, following research among collaborating hotels and other accommodation units. Hoteliers and hotel staff of all specialties can take part in the survey, up to January 5 when the participation period expires.
