Greece’s “co-capital” Thessaloniki celebrated for the fisrt time on Saturday 13 the Chinese New Year at the city’s Chinatown area at Aisopou street.
Chinese shopkeepers welcomed the “Year of the Red Fire Monkey” with traditional celebrations that lasted from 10.00 am to 14.00 pm.
The streets of Sapphous and Aisopou were filled with small flags of China and Greece and were decorated with traditional red color ornaments, as well as yellow dragons, while a colorful parade took place and visitors were given the chance to sample the famous Chinese cuisine.
