Greece's Day 1 program at 2016 Summer Paralympic Games in Rio

The 2016 Summer Paralympic Games in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil have officially begun, with ten Greek athletes participating in events on the first day.

Specifically, Greece will be represented by Chrysoula Antoniadou, Semicha Rizaoglou and Alexandra Stamatopoulou in swimming.

Meanwhile  Nikos Gonios, Dimitrios Zisidis, Athanasios Konstantinidis, Michael Seitis and Smaragdi Styliani will participated in various athletics events.

Finally, Athanasios Barakas and Konstantinos Troulinos are scheduled to participate in cycling events.

The organisers of the Rio2016 Paralympics have finalised the events schedule for the first day of the competition. Below is the timetable of Greek athletes’ participation for the first day of events:

SWIMMING:

-16.41: 100m women’s freestyle S4 heats

Rizaoglu Semicha, Stamatopoulou Alexandra

-17.43: 200m women’s freestyle S5 heats

Antoniadou Chrysoula

-00.44: 100m women’s freestyle S4 final

-01.59: 200m women’s freestyle S5 final

TRACK & FIELD:

-16.05: Men’s shot put F32 final

Gonios Nikos, Zisidis Dimitrios, Konstantinidis Athanasios

-23.42: Men’s 100m heats T44

Seitis Michalis

-00.08: Women’s long jump final T47

Smaragdi Styliani

TRACK CYCLING:

-17.57: Men’s individual pursuit qualifiers

Barkas Athanasios, Troulinos Konstantinos

-23.38: Men’s individual pursuit final
