A big parade will conclude the 6th Thessaloniki Pride festival on Saturday night, with revelers expected to gather at the White Tower at 19:30.
During the day, organizers set up kiosks which offered games, body painting, labs and a library, while this evening’s parade will be followed by a concert.
“Thessaloniki pride is dedicated to our right to define ourselves as we feel and our obligation to respect the identities of others,” Pride’s spokesman Thanos Vlahoyiannis said in a press conference earlier this week.
On his side, Thessaloniki mayor Yiannis Boutaris said the municipality “considers as a given the acceptance of diversity as a way of life”, adding Pride is a “public expression of claiming rights”.
