The Delphi Bank 24th Green Film Festival has announced the Australian premiere of Greek box office hit Roza of Smyrna will kick off the 12 day Festival (October 10 – 22, 2017) at Palace Cinemas, Norton Street on Tuesday 10 October, 2017.
Directed by Greek filmmaker George Kordellas, the romantic drama has earnt fame as the Greco-Turkish Romeo and Juliet, and features the first cinematic starring role of celebrated theatre actress Lida Protopsalti in her 66 year career.
“We are thrilled to open the Festival with Kordellas’ debut feature. Roza of Smyrna is an incredible film exploring the intricacies of romance, while delivering crucial commentary on turbulent Greek-Turkish relations in the twentieth century,” noted Festival Chair, Nia Karteris.
