International forum 'New Silk Road' at 82nd Thessaloniki Fair

The Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA), pursuing its efforts to actively contribute to the country’s growth and its progress toward exiting the crisis, is holding a forum this Sunday at the 82nd Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) – where China is the honoured country – on the topic “New Silk Road”.

The initiative seeks to boost the ANA’s efforts to actively support entrepreneurship in the primary sector, manufacturing, tourism, start-ups and new technologies, putting special emphasis on extraversion. 

The event is taking place under the auspices of the President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos.

Participants in the forum include among others the Chinese news agency Xinhua, the Balkan news agencies (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey) that are members of the Association of Balkan News Agencies – Southeast Europe (ABNA-SE), the news agencies of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Estonia, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Russia (both TASS and Ria-Novosti), Slovakia and Czech Republic, as well as a host of journalists from China, Turkey and Greece.

The forum will focus on coordinating the cooperation of news agencies in order to promote their commercial and cultural ties and to build the cooperation of the parties in order to promote growth, increase investments and strengthen business action for combating unemployment and eradicating the phenomenon of poverty. In this context, there will be promotion of business synergies, scientific and technological innovations and of regional economic cooperation.
