Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Gadjo Dilo, Spiros Grammenos, Stathis Drogosis, Quilombo, Melisses, Manolis Famellos and Marietta Fafouti are just some of the stars of the Greek music scene that will be performing at the annual concert held on Tuesday by the magazine “Shedia”- Greece’s only street paper – to support its action against homelessness.
In addition to an all-star line up, this year’s concert at the Gazi Technopolis in central Athens will also include theatrical events and games for young and old.
The concert starts at 20:00 on Tuesday evening and will be preceded by “The Dinner” – an alternative “show” in which the homeless/jobless vendors of the street paper will act as the hosts and share their stories with their fellow diners. There will be two performances at 18:00 and 19:00.
Meanwhile, the magazine’s petanque team will organize a game and share its secrets with the audience, while the Museum of School Life and Education will invite children to make up their own fairy-tales. The activities all start at 18:00 while the entrance ticket costs six euros, with all revenue going to support ‘Shedia’.
The “Shedia” concert takes place each year to raise funds for the street paper’s activities and its actions against poverty, prejudice and social exclusion.
