Kite-flying show and Clean Monday feast at horse-racing track in Markopoulo

For the first time in Greece, the kite-flying tradition for the Clean Monday holiday was upgraded into a unique spectacle, with innovative and fanciful kites swooping and diving in an air show that transfixed both young and old, ANA reports.

Flying octopi, jelly-fish and a host of other ‘creatures’ of all shapes and sizes filled the sky with colour at the horse-racing track in Markopoulo, which for one day was turned into an amusement park for all comers.
