P100 – Planet Technopolis: a two-day festival in Athens for the whole family

The Technopolis City of Athens invites children and adults to the P100 – Planet Technopolis festival over the weekend of September 15 and 16.

Sports, technology, science, astronomy, environment, art history, theater, music, dance, cooking, confectionery, circus, creative writing, books, animation, cinema as well as treasure hunts are some of the activities featured at the festival.

The day will commence with sports activities for children and the whole family. The program includes yoga, capoeira, hula hoop, bicycle races led by experienced sports professionals, as well as soccer and petanque tournaments organized by the “Sxedia” Magazine.

The sports activities will follow a series of educational thematic programs: visual arts and constructions, music and cinema, architecture, animation, science, new technologies and robotics.

In the Industrial Photovoltaic Museum, kids will explore every hidden corner of the old gas factory via the tour “A mouse is holed up in Gazi”, and they will also have the occasion to paint and become “Little gardeners with brushes”.

The INNOVATHENS powered by Samsung, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship pole of the City of Athens Technopolis, will present an interactive show titled “What will I do when I grow up?”. In cooperation with the Institute for Professional Orientation and Career (IEPAS), academic institutions and companies, the participants will educate the kids about vertical farming, weather modification, virtual reality, robotics, astrogeology, astrobiology and space.

The two-day festival also includes healthy and sustainable food and pastry workshops organized by the Hellenic Children’s Museum.

Each day will end with two musical theater performances for children and adults. On Saturday, the COPERNICOS theater group will present their show “The world upside down”, while on Sunday The Burger Project music group will present their “Crazy Concerto”, a play with humorous improvisations, frantic rhythms and sounds!

Extra tip: There will be a specially designed area and activities for parents with infants.
