The 'ANTI' edition of 6th Athens Biennale 2018 opens downtown on Friday

The 6th edition of the Athens Biennale will launch in four landmark buildings on Stadiou Street on Friday, in an ‘ANTI’ version that, among others, is dedicated to the dead gay rights activist Zak Kostopoulos/Zackie Oh, who was killed in circumstances still under investigation, ANA reports.

More than 100 international artists, media creators and theorists will take part in ANTI, including 23 Greek groups. Their work will be shown in spaces that have lain abandoned and empty – the formerly glamorous hotel Esperia Palas, the historic TTT building a few doors down, the Benakeio Library next to the Old Parliament and the building on Kolokotroni 4.

Support has also come from the Attica Region, which has given one million euros to the current and following editions, the Benakeio Library and the Onassis Foundation.
