Special 1940s-styled ‘OXI Day’ parade in Greek town of Karystos in Evia (video)

The town of Karystos in Greece’s Evia marked ‘OXI Day” in its own special way on Sunday morning, October 28.

The good weather enabled for hundreds of people to attend the parade at the town’s waterfront street.

Apart from the town’s students, many men along with members of the cavalry rode horseback, wearing period costumes and uniforms from 1940, offering a wonderful spectacle to the people who gathered there.

Karystos is a small coastal town on Greece’s island of Evia. It has a population of nearly 5,000 inhabitants and lies 129 kilometers (80 miles) south of Evia’s capital, Chalkida.
