An exhibition entitled “Roads of Arabia: Archaeological Treasures from Saudi Arabia” opened at the central Athens’ Benaki Museum on Thursday, and will run until May 26, naftemporiki.gr reports.
The exhibition explores the history and the multifaceted character of the Arabic peninsula from antiquity to modern times. According to the Benaki, the show “introduces the most important prehistoric settlements, presents findings of significant cultures of antiquity and late antiquity and reaches the Islamic era, with artifacts created during the various Islamic dynasties until the unification of Saudi Arabia.”
The exhibition is held by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, the National Museum of Riyadh, and the Benaki Museum, and is under the auspices of the foreign affairs ministry.
