The 2nd International Investment & Joint Ventures Forum closed its works on Wednesday, July 24th 2019 in Athens, Amaroussion, and has been organized by the Hellenic- Swiss Chamber of Commerce and the Municipality of Amaroussion, successfully achieving its aim for the broader expression of interest for investments in Attica Region by the participant countries.
The 2nd International Investment Forum was held under the auspices of the new Regional Governor of Attica, President of KEDE and Mayor of Amaroussion Mr. Giorgos Patoulis.
Ambassadors to Greece of Indonesia, Pakistan, Taiwan, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Slovakia, Nigeria, Belgium, Zambia, Ukraine, Moldova and Jordan participated in the Forum, by the attendance also of representatives of international Chambers of commerce, and expressed their interest for investment opportunities in Greece and exports to the European Union countries through Greece.
The initiative and organization of the Forum was held by the Hellenic -Swiss Chamber of Commerce and the chambers’ President Nikos Samaras.
The new Regional Governor of Attica, Mayor of Maroussi, and President of Central Union of Municipalities of Greece stressed that the Municipality of Amaroussion embraced the initiative to conduct the International Investment Forum with the collaboration and support of the Hellenic-Swiss Chamber of Commerce “in the context of creating an investment-friendly environment” that has already started to be activated for Attica Region, and will be the basis for the development prospects of Attica by the new Regional governance. We will also initiate, directly by the assumption of our duties,” Mr. Patoulis said, “the creation of an Investment Innovation Support Node to support prospective investors.”
“Now that the Country Risk has been reduced to a minimum in Greece, while at the same time political stability has been restored, we still have to implement directly the remaining structural reforms” said the new Attica Regional Governor, “such as the reduction of bureaucracy and the creation of a simplified system of tax reliefs and incentives for investments”.
“Especially for the Attica Region and the whole country, the attraction of investments will be liberalized by targeting new sectors for investments -beyond the traditional areas which are the shipping and tourism-, and by focusing on other areas (eg technological innovations, high quality organic agricultural products, wellness tourism, etc.) with huge prospects within the next decade, “noted Mr. George Patoulis.
Mayor of Amaroussion, President of KEDE and the new Regional Governor of Attica Mr. George Patoulis thanked the President of the Hellenic- Swiss Chamber Mr. Nikos Samaras for his initiative and expressed once again his great interest in attracting investments in Attica Region and Greece, and in expanding the opportunities of foreign investments to the Health and Wellness Travel sector of the country and especially Attica, which the new Regional Governor has promised to promote as a global metropolis of Wellness Tourism.
The 2nd International Investment Forum was also held by the participation and support of the Municipality of Aspropyrgos, and its Mayor Nikolaos Meletiou stated: “We had the opportunity to organize in Aspropyrgos the first, opening event for expression of interest for common development actions, hosting the 1st Investment Forum last March. It is such a pleasure that today’s meeting here in Amaroussion, and especially under the auspices of the new Regional Governor, is fruitful and optimistic for further and systematic cooperation between municipalities, local communities and regions in a broader concept of extroversion and creativity”
