The New York City Greek Film Festival opens its gates this year on October 17 and will present movies and programs all the way through to October 23, 2019, according to greekreporter.com.
Veteran Greek actress Maria Tzompanaki, the director of the Festival, has worked closely with a number of individuals to make this year’s spectacular event possible and to offer six days full of spectacle and drama.
Movies that are international productions and incorporate themes of Greek interest will also be shown at the Festival, even if the films did not originate within the country of Greece.
Thanks to the New York Greek Film Festival, Greek filmmakers have the opportunity to show their work at the best venues in the media capital of the world, and provide a link between Greece and New Yorkers.
Residents of the Big Apple have welcomed the opportunity to experience the wonderful work of Greek filmmakers for all the years, that the Festival has thrived under the under the directorship of Maria Tzompanaki.
The French Institute’s ”Alliance Française,” or FIAF, situated at 22 East 60th Street in Manhattan, will open its doors to the public on Thursday, October 17th for a digital exhibition on the legacy of Alexander the Great.
