Sydney festival set to mark “all things Greek” this weekend

Now in its 38th year, the Greek Festival of Sydney is one of Australia’s largest and longest-running annual cultural events and is set to start tomorrow, with two days of non-stop entertainment including live music from local and international musicians, dancing, food and so much more for the entire family, greekcitytimes.com reports.

An initiative of the Greek Orthodox Community of New South Wales, the Greek Festival is a great multicultural event where all Sydneysiders are invited to celebrate and explore the beauty of Greek culture through the arts, history, entertainment, and gastronomy.

For all foodies, there will be an array of Greek treats on offer, including souvlaki, loukoumades, and of course, you can grab a Greek coffee, Frappe, Freddo, Mythos beer and Ouzo anytime throughout the day.

This year, audiences are in for a special treat on Sunday evening with a free performance by the talented Greek singer, Giota Negka, on her first visit to Australia.

Indubitably one of the most special multicultural events in Sydney, and a must-do in the events calendar, Greek Fest Darling Harbour will give Sydneysiders a taste of Greece as the foreshore of Darling Harbour comes alive.
