AGAPW presents online event celebrating Bicentennial of Greek Independence

The Association of Greek American Professional Women (AGAPW) celebrates the bicentennial of Greek Independence with an upcoming online event on Monday, March 22, 7:30-9 PM EDT, with Dr. Maria Efthymiou, Modern Greek History Professor at the Faculty of History and Archaeology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Helen Liana Theodoratou and Dr. Anastasia Romanou and is based on Dr. Efthymiou’s four-part presentation: “A Concise Approach to the Fight for Independence,” released by the Hellenic Foundation of Culture.

Dr. Efthymiou was born in Larissa, Central Greece, and studied History at the Faculty of History and Archaeology of the University of Athens. She continued her post-graduate studies in Paris, at the University Paris 1 Ρantheon-Sorbonne, where she earned a Master’s degree (DEA). She studied, apart from Greek, seven foreign languages- English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Albanian, and Turkish. Many of Dr. Efthymiou’s books and articles are available online.
