“Hymn to Freedom” online concert for the 200 years of the Greek Revolution

The Secretariat General for Public Diplomacy and Greeks Abroad of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, invites Hellenes and Philhellenes to the “Hymn to Freedom” of Dionysios Solomos on Thursday, March 25, greekcitytimes.com reports.

It is a rare version written by Nikolaos Chalikiopoulos Mantzaros, the composer of the hymn.

The big anniversary concert for the 200 years of the Greek Revolution, will be broadcasted on the Athens Concert Hall website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel.

Iconic paintings by Greek painters of the 19th century, who praised the struggle for Independence, enrich the video.

The digital projection is accompanied by Greek and English subtitles.

The concert video will be available on all platforms for one month and on-demand from the MMA site until December 31, 2021.
