Survey shows 1821 Independence Revolution is a reference point for all Greeks

A survey on what contemporary Greeks think and know about the 1821 revolution, which led to the foundation of the modern Greek state, has been commissioned by the Centre for Liberal Studies, the third of its kind since 2019, ANA reports.
The MARC poll was conducted between November 30 and December 5 on a nationwide basis using a sample of 1,211 individuals as part of the educational program “200 years since the Liberal Revolution”.
Its findings show that the 1821 war of independence was a common reference point that unites all Greeks, regardless of their demographic profile, educational level, ideological beliefs, and political identity, noting that its national nature has a 91.2 pct approval rate.
