Greek president attends memorial march for Thessaloniki Jews killed in Holocaust

President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Sunday attended the silent memorial march organized in the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki each year to commemorate the Jews that fell victim to the Nazis in WWII, ANA reports.

“With this memorial march we honor the victims of nazism, fascism, and antisemitism and share in the grief of their descendants, listen to the revealing words of the few survivors, and unite our voice with the thousands of citizens that walk the same route, from the ghetto to the train station, putting into action the universal human message ‘Never Again’,” Sakellaropoulou noted.
