The 83rd anniversary of ‘OXI’ Day was celebrated by the St. Basil community’s Greek School in Houston on October 28. The celebration began with a prayer led by Fr. Dimitrios Ntovas and then a parade of all the students with the flags of Greece and the United States followed.
Sophia Vachtsevanou, director and teacher of the Greek School, welcomed the priests Fr. Luke Palumbis and Fr. Dimitrios Ntovsa, Consul General of Greece in Houston Lambros Kakissis and his wife, Naval Attaché Admiral L.S. Andreas T. Glezakos and all the parents and grandparents who filled the hall which was decorated with Greek flags and photos from 1940. Vachtsevanou then invited Consul General Kakissis to share his greetings.
