Greek Parliament observes one minute of silence for Holocaust victims

The Greek Parliament observed a one-minute silence in memory of the Greek Jewish martyrs and heroes of the Holocaust, ANA reports.

The Parliament commemorates every year the 27th of January, which has been established as the international day of remembrance for the victims of the Holocaust.

“Sixty thousand Greek Jewish brothers and sisters who sacrificed themselves on the barbaric altar of Nazism constituted the fifth most numerous ethnic group at Auschwitz. The Holocaust of the Jews is the greatest mass crime that has occurred throughout history,” stated Deputy Parliament President Athanasios Bouras.
