ITB | Positive messages for Peloponnese tourism in 2025

Positive messages were recorded for Peloponnese during the International Exhibition ITB 2025, which took place in Berlin from March 4 to 6 and attracted the interest of more than 10,000 exhibitors from around the world and approximately 160,000 visitors.

The Peloponnese Tourism Organization (TOP), in collaboration with the Peloponnese Region, which was a co-exhibitor with the Greek National Tourism Organization, developed interesting collaborations and B2B meetings with buyers, media and leading tourism professionals. At the same time, there were important contacts from all sides with global partners, such as ATTA (for the development of Outdoor Tourism), TBEX (for the promotion of the Peloponnese), Green Destinations (for the enhancement of sustainability), as well as the airline and Operator JET2 (for the enhancement of the connectivity of the destination).

Mr. George Alexandrou (AhoraNamou), representing TOP, at the said exhibition, confirmed the keen interest of the German market for the Peloponnese, a fact which, despite the geopolitical and economic challenges at an international level that could affect the sector, leaves a message of optimism for a good upcoming season.

ΤΟΠ President Mr. Konstantinos Marinakos also expressed his optimism for the higher demand trends that are being formed, mainly by the European market, however, he underlined: “it is It is necessary to focus now – beyond arrivals and receipts – on figures with more qualitative characteristics, such as the average expenditure per visitor, the average length of stay and the income “profile” of tourists coming to the Peloponnese. A similar goal also requires the search for new target markets and a coherent strategy to support and promote the tourism product of the Peloponnese through a continuous program of public investments in special tourist facilities and infrastructure.

In this direction, the positive climate resulting from the recent ITB exhibition in Berlin, where our country reaffirmed its role as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the EU, and the results of a recent study

by INSETE that ranked Greece first among six Mediterranean markets in terms of hotel guest satisfaction for the summer of 2024, with a Guest Satisfaction Index (GRI) of 87%, are considered a fortunate coincidence. All this on the condition that the broader geopolitical and economic environment and the challenges that emerge will have an equally positive development.
