Volissos becomes a summer festival destination

In Volissos, the largest village of Northern Chios, with a strong historical and cultural imprint, the summer cultural event is renewed this year, with the organization of the Chios Municipality Festival, which is scheduled to be held on the three-day weekend of July 11, 12, and 13 in Limnia Volissos. The event, which is an evolution of the Volissos Summer Festival, is part of the summer cultural activities of the Chios Municipality and aspires to offer, for another year, unique moments of culture, music, and summer escape.

As emphasized by the organizers, this is a festival that has been established as one of the most important on the island, with recognition that goes beyond local borders and attracts visitors from both Greece and neighboring Turkey. Through its musical events, it enhances the extroversion of Chios and contributes substantially to its cultural and tourist development.

Investing in the culture of North Chios

North Chios, with its characteristic natural beauty and special cultural wealth, is an area that needs constant support and promotion. The festival offers exactly this opportunity: for the area to come alive, to gain new momentum, and to host visitors who will discover the charm and authenticity of the place.

With the aim of sustainability and strengthening the institution, it is proposed that the festival be placed under the auspices of the Municipality of Chios. The Municipality will undertake the cultural part of the organization, namely the concerts and musical evenings that constitute the core of the program, expressing the creative identity of the area.

Chios, with its centuries-old history, maritime tradition, picturesque villages, mastic, and gastronomy, is a unique destination in the Aegean. Summer cultural events, such as the Chios Municipality Festival in Volissos, enhance the island’s dynamic and offer visitors an authentic, high-quality experience deeply connected to its identity.
