Two interesting events are to be hosted this summer in Amorgos and Lesvos, with the aim of strengthening the cultural identity and tourism potential of the two islands.
In particular, from July 27 to August 2, Rudu Fest Amorgos 2025 is scheduled to take place in Amorgos, an intercultural artistic festival that combines musical concerts with audiovisual installations. The event, which has been implemented since 2021, aims to develop the island’s cultural tourism, attracting travelers interested in authentic, personalized experiences. This year, particular importance is given to its holding, as it is hosted in an area that was recently hit by an earthquake.
The participation of renowned Greek artists and internationally recognized DJs is expected to enhance the extroversion of Amorgos, promoting it as a modern, culturally active destination. Parallel actions will highlight the diversity of the island’s tourism product, strengthening the local economy and offering visitors the opportunity to get to know the place, its people and its cultural identity.
During the same period, from August 1 to 3, the established Sardine Festival-Celebration is scheduled to take place in Kalloni, Lesvos, which this year celebrates 42 years of continuous presence. This is an important initiative of the Municipality of West Lesvos, in collaboration with the Directorate of Culture and Tourism and local businesses, which honors the rich fishing tradition of the island and in particular the Kalloni sardine, also known as “Papalina”.
The event has become a point of reference for the local community and the visitor, promoting gastronomic tourism and acting as a bridge of experiential contact with the culture, nature and tradition of the place. The Gulf of Kalloni, with its unique biodiversity, beaches, wetlands and lagoons, composes an ideal setting for the promotion of this experience.
It is noted that both events are held with the support of the Hellenic Tourism Organization.
