Michaels Cacoyannis Foundation — Children’s & Adolescent Stage
Alki Zei, The Chaplain of the Showcase
Alki Zei’s emblematic coming-of-age story is being staged in a new theatrical adaptation: summer in Samos, two sisters, a group of children and a “chaplain” who brings their imagination to life, while the Metaxas dictatorship (4/8/1936) darkens the world of adults. Secret missions, solidarity and the timeless demand for freedom, through the eyes of children. A poetic, live performance with simple but imaginative sets, music on stage and a hero-symbol who reminds us that democracy and freedom are won with courage and truth. Premiere: Sunday, October 26
