Promoting Pieria as a destination for sports and alternative tourism, the Pieria Tourist Development and Promotion Organization (P.O.T.A.P.) successfully participated in the “OPAP Marathon Expo 2025” tourism exhibition that took place in Athens from 5 to 8 November, within the framework of the Authentic Athens Marathon.
With a dynamic presence and modern promotion within the Central Macedonia Region pavilion, P.O.T.A.P. highlighted Pieria as a comprehensive destination for experiential experiences. Particular emphasis was placed on the development and promotion of sports tourism, a sector in which Pieria has strong comparative advantages: the unique natural environment of Olympus and Pieria, its coasts, mountain routes and modern sports facilities.
The Pieria Tourism Development and Promotion Organization (P.O.T.A.P.) was represented by the Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Organization, Mr. Odysseas Manolopoulos.
During the exhibition, Mr. Odysseas Manolopoulos had the opportunity to present to tourism professionals, runners and visitors the multidimensional possibilities of the region for mountain, sea, sports and generally alternative tourism throughout the year.
P.O.T.A.P., co-organizer of major sporting events such as the “Olympus Marathon”, the “TRIMAN” etc., strategically invests in the connection of sports with tourism, attracting visitors from Greece and abroad who choose Pieria for action, training, recreation and wellness.
On the occasion of the participation of P.O.T.A.P. The Deputy Governor of Pieria, Ms. Sofia Mavridou, stated: “Pieria’s participation in the “OPAP Marathon Expo 2025” is another essential action of extroversion and promotion of our region. Through the Pierian Tourism Development and Promotion Organization, we highlight the unique identity of Pieria as a destination that harmoniously combines nature, sports and thematic tourism.”
Participation in the OPAP Marathon Expo is part of the targeted promotion actions implemented by the Pierian Tourism Development and Promotion Organization to strengthen the extroversion and identity of Pieria as a “Destination for All Seasons.”
