Luxury Apartments at Sea – High-end Residences on Cruise Ships

  • Crescent Heights, one of the largest and most established real estate developers in the United States, has announced the launch of Crescent Seas, a new model of residences offering luxury apartments at sea.

The first unit of Crescent Seas will be the Navigator, a cruise ship that will be transformed into high-end residences, in collaboration with subsidiaries of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.. The ship will undergo a $50 million renovation, with the contribution of three leading design firms: Lissoni & Partners, Journey, and MAWD.

The Navigator will feature 210 residences, with prices ranging from $750,000 to $8 million. Amenities include personal butler service for all residents and Starlink connectivity for remote work or education. Sales begin April 9, with the ship set to make its maiden voyage in December 2026.

Crescent Seas plans to add four more luxury houseboats over the next five years.

Luxury living on the move

The initiative is led by Russell W. Galbut, co-founder of Crescent Heights and a leading figure in the cruise industry. “Travelers were looking for a more permanent way to experience this. We selected ships with the right configuration to transform them into luxury houseboats,” he said.

Unlike traditional cruises, owners of these homes will travel on extended itineraries around the world, staying 2-3 days at each destination. The program will cover all seven continents, with destinations including French Polynesia, the Faroe Islands, and Madagascar, according to Marisa Galbut, president of Crescent Seas.

High-level service

The ship’s crew and hospitality services will continue to be managed by experienced provider The Apollo Group, which has over 50 years of experience in the cruise industry.

Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, commented: “We are delighted that Navigator will continue her voyages with Crescent Seas, offering unforgettable experiences to her residents.”

Crescent Seas is being developed through GFO Investments, Galbut’s family investment firm, which is a major investor in Crescent Heights. With 50 years of experience in real estate development and 23 years in the cruise industry, Galbut seeks to create the most luxurious residences at sea, offering a new way of life for discerning travelers.
