Major global and European distinctions were handed out to Greek destinations, hotels and beaches in 2015 Travelers’ Choice Awards, based on leading international travel platform Tripadvisor users’ reviews:
** Destinations
Santorini emerged as the best island in Europe and the 4th best island in the world. Crete ranked third and Zante fourth in the European list. Athens ranked 20th among the 25 top destinations in the world for 2015.
** Beaches
Elafonissi won the 10th place in the global list as well as 3rd in the European. Also, Egremni in Lefkada ranked 9th, Balos in Kissamos 12th, and Lindos St. Paul 13th in the European list.
** All incusive hotels
Ikos Oceania Halkidiki ranked 13th in the world and was the only all inclusive hotel from a European Union country that made it to the top-25 global list.
In the European list, the Ikos Oceania ranked 2nd, the Club Med Edipsos 14th, the Holiday Village Rhodes 18th and the Ikos Olivia in Chalkidiki 19th.
