SETE tourism body chief sees positive signals for sector in 2016 due to late bookings

There are positive signals for Greek tourism in 2016, the president of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) Andreas Andreadis told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency.

He said last minute reservations are on the rise and estimated that around 25 million tourists will come to Greece this year – excluding cruise passengers.

Referring to revenues, he stressed the importance of higher revenues to positevely affect GDP in the third and fourth quarters. “This is our bet,” he underlined.

Moreover, Andreadis estimated that October will be a positive month for the sector and that the country has benefited from the drop in Turkey’s tourism.
