Global Blue Hellas has recorded an upward trend in the return of VAT to non-EU residents, enabling the multinational company once again to emerge as the leader in the Tax Free Shopping market.
Nearly a year after the reduction of the Tax Free limit from € 120 to € 50, the company recorded a rise of more than 60% in its turnover between October 2016 and November 2017.
The total purchase value of these transactions exceeded 10 million euros as the Chinese recorded an increase of 42%, the Russians 69% and FYROM nationals 101%.
Global Blue Hellas data showed that for transactions between € 50 and € 120, the predominant sector was clothing and footwear with a growth rate of 60%, while the Regions of Central Greece and Macedonia exhibited exceptional potential with sales topping € 6 million.
