Four of the 10 most popular European islands for holidays in the summer of 2018 are Greek, according to booking figures analyzed by leading German platform Check 24 which highlights the preferences of travelers for European island destinations.
The most popular Greek island, according to listed pre-bookings by the platform, is Crete, with an impressive share of 17.2% in European holiday island bookings for 2018.
Rhodes follows in fifth place (7%), Kos in sixth (6.2%) and Corfu with Paxos in 8th (2.8% share).
Kos offers exceptional value for money, as compared to last year, as it is cheaper by 2%, unlike all other islands where prices are rising.
The largest rise in prices on a Greek island is recorded in Corfu and Paxos and stands at + 18.4% compared to last year.
The most popular island for the Germans is Majorca with a 32.3% share of all bookings for island destinations, despite having 6% more expensive prices than last year.
