Cond? Nast Traveller: Santorini and Antiparos in hottest European destinations in April

Two Greek island destinations, Santorini and Antiparos, are included in the list of the British Cond? Nast Traveller with the hottest destinations in Europe for April, highlighting once again the country’s momentum at the start of the summer season.

In the recent tribute entitled “Where is hot in April in Europe”, the magazine presents seven European destinations that offer mild temperatures, less crowds and more affordable prices in the so-called shoulder season, in a period when, as noted, more and more travelers are avoiding the summer heat waves and seeking a cooler but sunnier climate.

In this context, Santorini is proposed as a classic but quieter destination in April, with plenty of sunshine, noticeably reduced crowds compared to summer and temperatures that can reach the mid-twenties by the end of the month. Cond? Nast Traveller notes that this period is ideal for exploring the island, keeping a light jacket for the afternoon hours, with the famous Aegean sunsets in the background.

At the same time, Antiparos is presented as an underrated, authentic island with milder temperatures from 16 to 22 degrees Celsius, lower tourist traffic and a slower pace. Summing up from the publication, it is reported that the visitor is rewarded with leisurely walks in the settlement, visits to beaches and caves and seafood lunches, in an environment that still remains far from intense commercialization.

Meanwhile, Cond? Nast Traveller places the Greek proposals in a broader European context for April, proposing a total of seven destinations:

– the Bodrum region in Turkey

– Sicily in Italy

– Santorini in Greece

– Mallorca in Spain

– Antiparos in Greece

– the Abruzzo region in Italy

– and Almer?a in southern Spain

For Bodrum, reference is made to the upgrading of the image of the Turkish Turquoise Coast, the attraction of high-income travelers and the opening of luxury resorts from mid-April, with mild temperatures and a calmer atmosphere compared to the high August.

Sicily is described as a destination that combines beach and city, with temperatures that can exceed 25 degrees Celsius, offering access to both beaches such as Torre Salsa and the historic palette of Palermo.

Mallorca is presented as a classic Spanish destination that is becoming increasingly popular outside school holidays, with around 22 degrees Celsius, fewer crowds and better prices, allowing a combination of culture and beach. At this point it should be emphasized that special mention is made of the heart of the island and the city of Palma, for those who want more liveliness.

Abruzzo is proposed as a less predictable option, with temperatures reaching up to 24 degrees Celsius, intense natural scenery from the Apennine mountains to the Adriatic and opportunities for wine tourism and visits to historic monasteries.

Almer?a is characterized as a typical example of southern Spain, where in July and August temperatures soar, but in April they remain mild around 24 degrees Celsius, ideal for a combination of beach, hiking in protected areas and urban experience with tapas and culture.

It is worth noting that Cond? Nast Traveller integrates the above options into a broader travel narrative for April, in which the search for better weather conditions, more affordable prices and less crowding at the beginning of the season shapes new travel habits.
