Passenger traffic in Greek airports up 9.9% during January – October 2017

Passenger traffic rose 9.9 pct in the January-September period totaling 53.5 million passengers, compared to 48.7 million in 2016, Greece’s Civil Aviation Authority said on Monday.

In a report, the authority announced that flights rose by 2.3 percent to 437,198 in the ten-month period with 167,825 domestic and 269,373 international flights

In October, 5.3 million passengers traveled through Greek airports with domestic passengers up by 14.9 percent and international visitors up by 15.2 percent.

During this ten-month period, the airports of Athens, Heraklion, Thessaloniki, Rhodes and Chania were the busiest while the airport of Paros, Naxos  and Sitia in Crete recorded the highest percentage rise in the number of passengers.
