During June, Athens International Airport (AIA) passengers enjoyed a strong increase of 11.6%, reaching 2.43 million.
Both domestic and international travellers attained growth, at the level of 6.2% and 14.4%, respectively. Overall, during the period January through June 2018, the airport’s passenger traffic exceeded 10 million (10.45), achieving double-digit growth (+11.1%), with both domestic and international traffic exceeding the respective 2017 volumes by 2.3% and 15.7% respectively.
The number of flights during the first six months of the year amounted to 94,922, demonstrating a healthy rise of 9.5%. Both domestic and international services presented growth by 5.9% and 12.1% respectively, mainly attributed to the enhanced summer 2018 route network of the airport.
