The eastern Greek island Kastellorizo is the eighth destination of the Athens International Airport programme Fly me to the Moon-Sounds Greek to Me! With even more images of Greece, the programme continues, with Kastellorizo -officially Megisti- for a day dedicated to the island’s traditions. On Friday, July 12th, travellers and airport visitors will enjoy the musical tradition, dances and local flavours of Kastellorizo, as well as a video art installation showing the beauties of the island.
Setting the beat of the event, traditional instrumentalists playing the violin, the guitar and lute, will perform a rich repertoire, while members of the local dance club in traditional costumes, will lure the audience to the dance floor for an improvised feast!
With the help of art and technology, a special multiple screen installation will “take” airport visitors to the picturesque Kastellorizo and to the sense of ultimate relaxation that emerges from the island’s clean, crystal clear and deep waters. Among the beauties of the island, the Blue Cave, one of the finest caves in Greece, at the Athens Airport on July 12th!
