Passenger traffic at the Athens international airport increased 2.8 pct in February, totaling 1.36 million passengers, with domestic traffic down 4.5 pct and international traffic up 6.4 pct compared with the same month last year, ANA reports.
During the first two months of 2020, passenger traffic in the Athens airport totaled 2.8 million passengers, up 4.3 pct compared with the corresponding period in 2019. Domestic traffic fell 4.0 pct and international traffic was up 8.3 pct.
It is noted that global conferences, exhibitions, events, and travels are canceled, with the airline industry being one of the worst affected. At this point in time, AIA that has shown a dynamic growth for six consecutive years might show signs of stagnation, for the next (hopefully short) period, not regarding the airport itself but for the market in general.
