Civil aviation authority issues notam for all flights during new Greek lockdown

Greece’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Sunday issued a notam on the rules applying to all foreign and domestic flights in the period between November 9-30, during which the country’s will be under a nationwide lockdown to restrict the spread of Covid-19, ANA reports.

Beginning at 6:00 on November 9, domestic flights and commercial and general/business aviation to all airports in the country will be permitted only for essential travel, including for reasons of health, professional/business trips, family reasons (reunification of families) and a return to the permanent place of residence.

Exempted from the restrictions are Hellenic national healthcare system flights, state flights, sanitary flights, humanitarian flights, emergency flights, military flights, fire-fighting flights, Frontex flights, technical landings where passengers do not disembark, ferry flights, and cargo flights.

For international flights, starting on November 10 at 6:00 in the morning, the obligation to fill in a Passenger Locator Form at the website https://travel.gov.gr is extended to passengers departing from Greek airports to go abroad, as well those coming from abroad to Greece.

Furthermore, from 6:00 in the morning on November 11, passengers arriving on flights from abroad must be able to demonstrate that they have had a PCR test that is negative for Covid-19 taken  up to 72 hours before their arrival in Greece.
