According to a press release from AEGEAN Airlines on November 6, the airline has further strengthened its international network from Thessaloniki by launching a new direct flight to Amsterdam. Starting this winter, AEGEAN will operate three weekly flights to and from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with plans to continue the route through the summer season of 2025.
This addition not only enhances Thessaloniki’s connectivity to popular European destinations but also boosts the city’s potential as a year-round tourist hub. The inaugural flight was celebrated in collaboration with Fraport Greece, and passengers at both Thessaloniki and Amsterdam airports were treated to special surprises. Early flight occupancy rates indicate strong demand, highlighting the route’s significance to the local market. This new service offers a convenient option for Greek Americans and members of the diaspora who wish to travel directly to Northern Greece without needing to pass through Athens.
In addition to Amsterdam, AEGEAN continues to expand its Thessaloniki offerings, connecting the city to over 14 European destinations and 11 domestic ones this winter.
