A new Hungarian airline, backed by Chinese capital, is set to enter the cargo sector with flights to Hong Kong.
The airline, called Hungary Airlines, recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the American aircraft manufacturer Boeing for the purchase of 100 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, indicating its intention to enter passenger flights in the future. The company aims to boost passenger traffic between Central and Eastern Europe and China, using Budapest Airport as a hub. Currently, 21 flights connect Hungary with China per week.
