The number of one-way seats that the Swiss airline Edelweiss will offer in Heraklion, Crete, during the first half of 2025 has increased by 4% compared to the corresponding period of 2024, with the “Nikos Kazantzakis” airport being among the airline’s top 7 in terms of seats offered during this period.
The subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group and sister company of SWISS, will offer a total of 26,000 seats during the first half of 2025 at Heraklion airport.
According to data from aviation data analytics company Cirium, Edelweiss, which operates all flights from Zurich, will offer the majority of its capacity to Spain, Egypt, Greece, Kosovo, and Italy in the first half of the year, with the largest number of airports in Spain (11) and Greece (10).
The carrier is upgrading its flight schedule for Spring 2025 and from April, replacing previous three-way connections with direct flights to short-haul destinations, with new connections to, among others, Kos and Rhodes.
Edelweiss’ flight schedule for the first half of the year consists of 92 destinations from Zurich, including destinations that continue into the high summer season at the end of June. Pristina remains its top market with two daily connections throughout the year.
In total, the seats that the airline will offer to destinations in Europe and South Africa during this period amount to 664,000 compared to 590,000 in the corresponding half of 2024, while this year 9 new connections have been or are to be added (Cairo, Kittila, Rovaniemi, Salalah, Tbilisi, Bristol, Seattle, Terceira, and Zadar).
