Finland: 7.4% increase in holiday packages to Greece in 2024

Greece continues to hold the scepter among the most popular tourist destinations in the Finnish organized tourism market, which shows no signs of declining despite the challenges.

According to data from the Finnish Travel Industry Association, 225,000 holiday packages were sold to Finnish travelers traveling to Greece in 2024, making our country their most popular destination and even showing an increase of 7.4% compared to 2023 levels.

Spain follows with 187,000 packages, up 3.3% compared to 2023, of which 149,000 concerned the Canary Islands. Turkey came in third with 54,500 packages, followed by Egypt with 8,300 packages and the UAE with 3,600.

Emerging package tourism destinations were Cyprus with 36,000 packages, Bulgaria with 9,400, and Poland with 4,500.

The Union’s figures show that despite the challenges, Finns’ package holiday bookings increased last year. A total of 700,500 packages were sold, up 3% from 2023 levels, while turnover amounted to 738.5 million euros, an annual increase of 6.2%.
