Continuing the promotion of Pieria in European markets, the Pierian Tourism Development and Promotion Organization (P.O.T.A.P.) hosted and informed the Manager of the Tour Operator “SunWeb” Mr. Ronald Van Bruchem about the evolving tourism potential of the region, as well as the variety of options.
“Sunweb” develops professional activity in the Netherlands, Scandinavia, the United Kingdom, and other European countries, transporting tourists to various destinations, including Greece, which in recent years has been the second most visited destination for the Dutch.
Mr. Bruchem, accompanied by his partner in Greece Mr. Anagnosti Theocharopoulos, met with the Deputy Governor of Pieria Sofia Mavridou, the President of POTAP Mr. Giorgos Karalis, the members of the Board of Directors, Mr. Stelios Ouzas, Dimitris Topalides, Aris Nikas, Grigoris Veidamenides, Afroditis Bellou, the representatives of the Chamber of Pieria and the Elatochori Professionals Association in POTAP, Mr. Stratos Chalkidis and Mrs. Vanessa Ventsel and Panagiotis Drougas, respectively, and as well as the Director of the Organization Mr. Vasilis Dimou.
Then, accompanied by the Financial Administrator of POTAP, Mr. Stelios Ouzas visited the coastal front of the prefecture and places of special interest. At the same time, he was informed about alternative forms of tourism in the Olympus and Pieria regions.
On the occasion of Mr. Bruchem’s visit, Ms. Sofia Mavridou stated: “Attributing particular importance to the continuous promotion of Pieria and guided by the dynamics we offer to every tourist demand, always through the completeness of the choices in an annual dimension, the infrastructure, the excellent hospitality climate, and the experiential experiences, we informed Mr. Bruchem about what the tourist community enjoys in our prefecture. With reference to the fact that Mr. Bruchem emphasized his absolute satisfaction with what our tourist identity has, but also fascinated and impressed by what he saw, it is confirmed that our productive effort has a positive sign, which we will continue tirelessly and constructively”.
For his part, the President of the Pierian Tourism Development and Promotion Organization, Mr. George Karalis pointed out: “Tourist agents are our best ambassadors for the development and promotion of the product we offer to each visitor. In this direction, we invited one of the most dynamic executives in the field to promote the external image of our place and we informed him thoroughly. We also guided him to part of the abundance of possibilities we have so that he could experience Pieria of myths, natural beauty, and history with his own eyes. The markets that Sunweb targets constitute a particularly interesting society that we are approaching in order to contribute to the even greater development of Pieria as a tourist destination. I am sure that very soon we will reap the fruits of our efforts.”
