Strategic cooperation between GNTO and jet2 | Samos, a new destination

The Secretary General of the GNTO, Andreas Fiorentinos, met today with executives of JET2, the largest tourist operator in the United Kingdom, as part of the organization’s strategic cooperation with JET2 and JET2 HOLIDAYS, which focuses on sustainable tourism development and enhancing the tourist experience.

During Mr. Fiorentino’s meeting with Janice Mather and Jacob Bramley of JET2, developments regarding this year’s tourist season were discussed, as well as the addition of Samos as a new Greek destination to JET2’s 2026 schedule, with flights from Manchester and London (Stansted) airports from May to October 2026.

Sustainable development and new tourism experiences

The long-term planning of the two entities for the sustainable tourism development of Greece and the upgrading of the tourism experience was also examined. The two sides highlighted the importance of their cooperation in expanding tourist flows throughout the year and their diffusion to less developed areas of the country by highlighting new and lesser-known Greek destinations to the British public.

The cooperation between GNTO and JET2 focuses on joint actions and co-advertising programs, which are aligned with the strategic priorities of GNTO for sustainable tourism development. The meeting discussed deepening this cooperation with the aim of creating new tourism products for the summer season and educating the JET2 partner network on new experiences and tourism products in our country.

Finally, it was agreed to draw up a roadmap for a balanced spatial and temporal expansion of JET2’s activity in Greece.
