Representatives of tourism organizations from Thessaloniki and the wider region had extensive professional B2B meetings with Polish tour operators on April 11, as part of a special event organized in Warsaw by the Polish National Tourist Office and the country’s national airline LOT.
The goal of the workshop was to highlight and promote Central Macedonia in the Polish market in view of the launch of LOT’s direct flights from Warsaw to Thessaloniki on June 17. These flights will operate daily until October 31 and four times a week for the period November-March. It is noted that on these routes, Polish travelers will have the opportunity for the first time to purchase individual tickets, regardless of tour packages.
Polish media journalists will also travel to Thessaloniki on the inaugural flight (17/6), as part of a press trip by the Polish National Tourism Organization in collaboration with LOT and with the support of the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization (TT?), to produce publications promoting the region to the Polish public.
On the Greek side, the event was attended by executives from the Region of Central Macedonia, the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization (TT?), the Thessaloniki Convention Bureau (TCB), the Halkidiki Tourism Organization (TOX) and the Pierian Tourism Development & Promotion Organization (POTAP), while on the Polish side, in addition to t.os, two journalists from Nowa Turystyka, one of the largest tourist portals in Poland, also participated.
Also, during the event, there was a raffle for two double trips on LOT flights and overnight stays offered by OTTH.
Greetings were delivered by the Ambassador of Greece in Warsaw, Niki Kampa, and the Director of the Department of Interconnections and a member of the Board of Directors of LOT, Robert Ludera.
