According to the carrier’s latest changes to its summer flight schedule, weekly flights are increasing from 10 originally planned to 12 during peak season.

More flights and airline seats from Canada in 2025
The Canadian market has shown signs of an upward trend for Greece in recent years. After all, in 2024, the “El. Venizelos” airport recorded 233,000 arrivals from Canada, up 47% compared to 2019 (158,000).
In 2025, based on data from the aviation analysis company Cirium, Athens is expected to welcome a total of 605 flights from Toronto and Montreal, 10 more than last year, via Air Canada and Air Transat.
Of course, according to the same data, which, however, do not include the recent changes to Air Canada’s schedule, the number of direct flights in 2025 from Toronto to Athens – via Air Canada – amounts to 217 compared to 224 last year. If Air Transat flights are added, their number rises to 288, compared to 297 in 2024.
Data from AirData Tracker’s flight seat planning for the summer of 2025 also contributes to the increase from Canada. According to INSETE’s tool, the planned seats for Athens amount to 239,392, an increase of 6.4% compared to last year.
It is noted that Canadian visitors tend to travel more within the country. In 2024, 1.38 regions of Greece were visited per visitor, according to INSETE data, being the market that presented the third highest ratio of visits per visitor, after the USA and Australia.
