Kastellorizo ??is preparing to welcome a special sporting event, the international mountain running race Rock Solid Kastellorizo ??2025 (RSK2025), scheduled to take place on June 7 and 8, starting from the island’s picturesque port.
The event aims to attract athletes from Greece and abroad, promoting sports tourism and strengthening the local community, both socially and economically. Through participation, special emphasis is placed on the involvement of the island’s children, as the goal is to cultivate sports literacy in the new generations.
The program includes four routes of varying difficulty:
Kastellorizo ??22K: A demanding 22-kilometer route with a positive elevation gain of 1,006 meters, to be held on June 7. This race is part of the qualification criteria for the iconic Olympus Marathon 2025 and Winter Enipeas 2025 races.
Kastellorizo ??10K: A 10-kilometer race with an elevation gain of 376 meters, scheduled for June 8.
Kastellorizo ??5K: A more accessible 5-kilometer route, with a positive elevation gain of 209 meters, to be held on June 7.
Kastellorizo ??1.3K: A specially designed route for children and beginners, 1.3 kilometers long, with a minimal elevation gain (25 m+), to be held also on June 7.
The choice of June to hold the race is not accidental: mountain running races avoid the summer heat, thus extending the tourist season and creating new opportunities for visitors and professionals on the island.
