Kalamata: Small share in international air arrivals – upward prospects

In the first seven months of 2025, Kalamata Airport “Captain Vasilis Konstantakopoulos” recorded just 0.6% of the country’s total international arrivals, with 88,692 passengers landing at the airport, according to INSETE data.

Despite the small share in international arrivals, Kalamata is showing an upward trend, with international flights with a total capacity of 53,407 seats scheduled for September and October. Most of the seats concern flights from the United Kingdom (40.6%), while the number of flights from Germany (21.8%) and the Netherlands (9.12%) is also significant.

This picture shows that Kalamata continues to attract international visitors, despite its limited participation in total arrivals. In any case, the airport, as the main gateway to Messinia, remains a strategic factor for the development of tourism in the region and offers prospects for further strengthening of visits in the coming months.
