Nikos Anastasiou: The General Manager at the New Heraklion Crete International Airport

Nikos Anastasiou assumed the position of General Manager of the New Heraklion Crete International Airport (NHIA) company, as of yesterday, Monday, September 8.

Mr. Anastasiou has extensive experience in the management and operation of aviation infrastructure, including the first airport concession project in Russia (Pulkovo, St. Petersburg).

From his new position, he will be responsible for the management of the company, in view of the completion of the construction project and the start of operations of the new Heraklion Crete International Airport.

The new airport, with a capacity to serve over 15 million passengers annually, is expected to play a decisive role in strengthening tourism, the economy and connectivity of Crete.

It is recalled that the company “Heraklion Crete International Airport” has been established for the construction and management of the New International Airport in Kastelli, Crete. The Greek State (45.9%), GEK TERNA S.A. (32.46%) and GMR Airports Ltd (21.64%) participate in it.
