SKY express: New direct connection Athens-Lisbon

SKY express further strengthens its international network and the connectivity of Greece with Europe, inaugurating the new direct air connection between Athens and Lisbon. The flights will operate three times a week, every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with the ultra-modern Airbus A320neo and Airbus 321neo aircraft, with an average age of just 3.9 years, which offer a reduced environmental and noise footprint, in full alignment with the company’s commitment to sustainable development.

The warm welcome organized by Lisbon Airport was attended by members of the Greek Embassy, ??high-ranking airport executives, as well as the Founder of SKY express, Mr. Ioannis Grylos, along with representatives of the company, a presence that underlines SKY express’s steadfast orientation towards the development of its international markets and the promotion of Greece as an attractive, quality destination throughout the year.

Lisbon is added to SKY express’s international network, which by the end of the year will list 27 international destinations, offering travelers seamless travel with high-level amenities and services. In addition, the company’s flight schedule will be further strengthened with new direct connections to Madrid, Hamburg, Lyon and Tel Aviv, as well as Thessaloniki-Dusseldorf and Heraklion-Tirana connections.

At the same time, SKY express remains the only Greek airline that maintains the largest domestic network in Greece, with 33 domestic destinations.

Mr. Grylos Ioannis, thanking for the warm welcome, stated: “We are particularly proud of our first flight connecting Athens with Lisbon and we express our warm thanks to Lisbon Airport for the excellent welcome, as well as to the representatives of the Greek Embassy for their presence and support in this new connection between the two countries. This new route brings Greece and Portugal even closer, boosting tourism to both sides. As demand increases, we intend to consider further increasing the frequency, so that even more visitors can discover Greece and our extensive network.”

Karen Strougo, Chief Commercial Officer of ANA VINCI Airports, said: “The strengthening of connectivity between Portugal and Greece, made possible by the new SKY express routes, opens up new horizons in Lisbon Airport’s connections with a destination as emblematic as Greece.
