An increase of 11.1% or 44,915 was recorded in October 2025, compared to the corresponding month of 2024, in international air arrivals at Heraklion airport, which amounted to 449,590.
In the same month, in domestic traffic, arrivals remained at approximately last year’s levels, increased by 0.14%, to 75,698.
For the period January – October 2025, an increase of approximately 6% is observed in international air arrivals compared to the corresponding eight months of 2024 and an increase of almost 7% in total arrivals.
Therefore, the total number of arrivals during the first 10 months of this year stands at 4.8 million, of which over 4 million came from abroad.
During the corresponding period last year, January-October, N. Kazantzakis Airport recorded a total of almost 4.5 million arrivals, of which 3.78 million were foreign arrivals.
The most important international markets, based on the number of arrivals at Heraklion Airport, during the first 10 months of 2025 were Germany (1.19 million), the United Kingdom (663,620) and France (425,540). This was followed by Poland (232,669), the Netherlands (199,620), Israel (169,100), Italy (158,218), Switzerland (135,200), Belgium (125,137), Romania (118,282), Austria (117,027) and the Czech Republic (110,007).
